Storage

I store my label sets in a folder with clear sleeves, this way i can flick through and see what i have
and they stay together

My sticker alphabets i keep in this concertina folder, again its easy to find what i wont.

Storing this way means i can take these with me to crops and camps easily. You can also store rubons this way. If you would like to join in our chat about storage ideas etc, just click HERE we would love to shear ideas with you

I brought a cuttlebug a few months ago and have got a few embossing folders,1 set of nestabilities, and a few small dies.My sweet friend Cherie kindly lent me here alphabet dies to play with, and the layout above is what i created. This is a very cool little machine and at the moment you can buy one of these with a full set of alphabets, upper and lower case for $159 which is a awesome buy, take a look at the cool new folders just in HERE
Any way i have wondered of the track lol,I have posted a little challenge for you at SBBD called "Have a go" You have until the 30th of Aug to upload your layout to go into the random draw.

SBBD August D.T Kit,Secret Diary

This is some of the stuff from my D.T kit from Scrapbook studio for August, its just so yummm.
I have used Prima "flirty little secret" paper to cover the front and back of my Diary, for the inside of the covers i used crackle paint.Front cover old lace,Websters "story tellers" lettering, small roses, green lace and a frame from Collecitons Elements - "Sash Window Chipboard",I painted this green. And a Tim Holt's key hole. In side the Diary i have used Prima transparencies as dividers and printed of a calender and some "TO DO "sheets as well as note paper.I added a small tag and stamped my name on it,i aged it with Tim Holt's distress ink.I also added a cool key with the word "secret" on it.
Thanks for visiting my blog,i really appreciate it.

A few examples and tips

This is the finished ATC ,I will show you what i have used to make this with.

I started with a plain piece of card, which i cut to size.

Next i covered it with a nice sunny paper and using the cuttle bug i embossed it

You can see the pattern better from the back so i turned it over to photograph.

Next i gently sanded the front to show the ridges up,then using a versa mark stamp pad,i stamped it over the front, this will hold the embossing powder on
Next i sprinkled gold embossing powder over the versa mark,( do this straight away) as the versa mark will dry out. Then gently turn over and tap the back of the card, this releases all the lose powder, then take your heat gun and run it over the front of your card, you will see it changing (this is so cool to watch) once you have done the whole front,go around the edge of the card with black ink
Here you can see the gold on the card, next i cut a scrap piece of paper into a triangle and stamped the front ,i used memento ink Tuxedo black,i used small foam squares on the back of this to make it pop up a little
Here is a better view, Now i like to use the memento inks when stamping, they are great for fine detail as they have a firm pad,I use the versa magic chalk ink for stamping also and find its great for around the edges of things as it has a nice soft pad and dries super fast
for the back of my atc i used a piece of light card, which i stamped with an ATC stamp, then using Tim Holt's distress ink and my inking block i gently softened the edges by using circular motions from the edge of the card towards the center.
My favourite inks at the moment are Memento for fin detail stamping
versa magic chalk inks for stamping, colouring chipboard and using around edges.
And of course Tim Holt's distressing inks.

This cute stamp can be ordered from scrappbooking by design, they also carry all the products i have used on this ATC
I hope you find this helpful,i know i struggled with what to use when i was new to scrap booking, and once you try a few techniques you will wonder why you hadn't tried it before lol. Thanks for visiting my blog.Have a great weekend Carol :)
